Restricted Free Agent (RFA) Offer Sheets
Tendering an offer sheet to another team's restricted free agent is permitted. In real life, the team holding the player's rights has the right to match the offer and if they do not match your offer, you will be required to pay compensation as follows:
| Contract Value (AAV) | Compensation |
| Less than $1,415,740 | No Compensation |
| $1,415,740 -to- $2,290,457 | 3rd Round Pick |
| $2,290,458 -to- $4,580,917 | 2nd Round Pick |
| $4,580,918 -to- $6,435,185 | 1st and 3rd Round Picks |
| $6,435,186 -to- $8,580,249 | 1st, 2nd and 3rd Round Picks |
| $8,580,250 -to- $10,725,313 | Two 1sts, a 2nd and a 3rd Round Pick |
| $10,725,314 or greater | Four 1st Round Picks |
This is a simulation, so all "Offer Sheets" will be accepted as long as you have the required draft picks.
Draft picks used as compensation must be your team's own original picks, and must be from the next year's draft. When multiple of the same type of pick is required, then subsequent draft year(s) will also be used. If your team has traded away some of their picks, you can re-acquire them again via trade, and these picks can then be used for an offer sheet.
What this site is all about
This web site is primarily a place for NHL hockey fans to be Armchair GM's. Fiddle with your team's roster, try different line combinations, make trades, and basically just see what you can do to improve your favourite team's line-up while still keeping it all within the NHL Cap Limit.
Save your roster, or copy and paste it into a forum to show others what moves you'd like your team to make.
The site is designed with multiple blocks of information able to load all within a compact area. This is meant to simplify things, and to give you as much information as possible without having to leave the page.
Give it a try.
Make some moves & see if you can improve your team!
Who am I?
My name is Ian Logie. First and foremost, like you, I am a hockey fan. I'm Canadian - born and raised in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, and have been a Vancouver Canucks fan my whole life :)
I am a single father, currently living in Denmark with my 2 boys.
Site Inspiration:
This site was inspired by CapGeek.com, which was a great tool for hockey fans. The passing of Matthew Wuest was a terrible loss for the hockey world, and many fans sorelly miss the web site he created. In creating NHLarmchairGM.com, my hope is that it can give many hours of joyful tinkering to the many NHL Armchair GM's out there.

Making Trades
Use the Trade Area at the bottom of the page to try to create some trades that will help your team. Click the "Trade" button to have players/draft picks swap sides (and change color/colour) within that row. Don't like the trade? Swap them back again!
If a loaded team's players are NOT draggable, click on the "Activate Drag" button below.
